I'm a marketing professor at the University of North Texas. Got my Ph.D. at ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain where I also met my Maine-born wife. I'm the father of two children, Ian 7 and Laura 4. I did track and field for 11 years until I finished high school. I was the Mexican national junior champion in 1991 and particpated in the Panamerican Chamiponships in Kingston, Jamaica that year. I turned into endurance sports in 1993 when I ran my first marathon (NYC). Been hooked since. I have run 22 marathons and countless shorter races. I used to be pretty fast (sub 35 10K, 1:15 half, sub 2:50 marathon). Nowadays, I'm happy and feel #blessed to simply move my body as fast as I can. I fully transitioned to triathlon in 2007. I have completed 2 full ironmans (Louisville 2010 and Mt. Tremblant 2013) and 20 70.3 races. I qualified and competed in the 2013 70.3 WC in Las Vegas. I've been coached by Derick Williamson (Durata Training) since 2011.
